Colt's homework over winter break was to collect things for his "string story." Tickets, pictures, etc. telling what he did with his time away from school. He could put 5 or more things on his string to share with the class, he wanted more, so we went with 6. His 5 things: monorail ticket, Seattle
carousal ticket, pictures of him decorating cookies for Santa at Grandma's houes, playing in the snow, playing at the Children's museum, and holding up his favorite Christmas present (spinning lightsaber.) He wanted to put the gold chocolate coin from Sees Candies he saved from Seattle on the string but I finally convinced him the hot glue would melt the chocolate.
Taking Skyler to the bus - the next day there wasn't a speck of snow to be seen.
In Colt's class they don't have show and tell, but they can bring something to share if it has to do with something they are learning about in class. Colt begged me all week to take his State Quarter collection, or the start of his collection, to school. I finally let him - they were learning about money in math and New Mexico in a book the teacher was reading them, and he had the New Mexico quarter. It's a stretch.... but it went well.
All dressed up - fuzzy socks and heels, a new trend?
At the kids school they earn these paw print tags for reaching goals as a class: being polite, showing respect, independant managers, doing thier best, everyone working cooperativly. Skyler brought home his 4th of the year!
