Our fish

They aren't extremly photogenic but here they are. A little more info on Beta in case anyone elses kids win the pet battle:
Male betas can live in a cummunity tank that does not have agressive fish or fish that bettas may become aggressive toward (like other betas). Males will attack another betta or even similar looking fish with flowing fins.
Female betas (what we have) can live with other community fish or other female betas.
Betas can be kept in a bowl but a tank with a filter will prolong their life and overall health.
Betas must be able to breathe from the surface of the water; they prefer water with little or no current due to their long fins.
So there you go, Bettas 101. And I'm happy to report they are both still alive and "thriving!"

I bet your kids are loving it! Thanks for all the info on betas, maybe we will get one. But probably not.
