Tom found a great pumpkin patch for us this year....we were there almost 4 hours! All of these activities kept the boys very entertained it seemed they forgot we were there for a pumpkin. Those pictures will come next. There was a "train" ride (barrels pulled by a tractor) "sandbox" full of large corn kernels, nail pounding, face painting, ect. And fishing- the boys have been begging us to go fishing so this worked out nicely- until I realized what was happening. This huge trough is full of fish. The hooks are catch and release hooks. So we'd catch a fish, take the hook out and throw it in for more abuse. We could've kept the fish we'd caught but I didn't want it stinking up the truck the rest of the day. It was pretty disturbing. But other then that this place was a lot of fun- we took a hay ride out to a field where a huge cannon was set up to launch pumpkins. The boys loved it- pumpkin guts sprayed as the pumpkins flew.
How fun! I especially liked that nail-pounding stump - what a perfect, simple activity for little kids! :) And the pumpkin cannon sounds fun too. Too bad for those poor fish though! :(
